For a moment, I wasn’t sure if she’d agree. I wouldn’t push her and I was honest in saying it would break me if she said no. It would shatter my heart in two. But she didn’t turn me down. She wants to explore what this is between us.

Taking her hand in mine, I tug her toward my bedroom. It’s there I lead her to the bed and close the green drapes, which hang from the top and encase us in our own little world.

Raven moves up the bed until she’s lying on her back, her hair spread out on the pillow and her eyes on me. She’s so beautiful in my bed. Like she belongs here.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen if we find out we’re not truly fated. I can’t imagine desiring another female like I do her. It feels right with Raven. It feels like fate brought us together for a reason. I hope it’s because we’re meant to be together.

Sliding up the bed beside her, I prop myself on my side, with my arm bent to raise me up as I look down on her. “May I?” I ask. She nods, knowing what I want.

With a quick flick of my wrist, all of our clothes are gone. There’s nothing separating us now. Reaching over, I slowly graze the backs of my fingers down her side, reveling in the silky feel of her skin. She’s soft and supple in all the right places, while in others, her toned muscles flex under my touch.

Raven is strong and I have no doubt one day she will be extremely powerful. The more she learns, the more confident she grows. She’s going to be a force to be reckoned with. And if she truly is my mate, my immense power will go to her. She’ll have the same that all of us in the royal family do. The same power every fae out there wishes they could have, but only my family, their mates, and children do. There’s a reason we rule the fae. If our power went to someone who would abuse it, the results would be catastrophic.

With fae royalty, our transfer of power is complete when we mate. There is no only gaining certain things like shifters or vampires do. They don’t gain inherent powers. We do.

My mind screams to take her, to bring us together and find out if she’s mine, but my heart is telling me to slow down. That I only get one first with her in this instance.

I follow my heart. I want to memorize every moment with Raven. I want to catalog how she feels beneath my fingers. How she responds to my touch. The look on her face when I finally bring us together.

I explore her every curve as I kiss over her body. She arches into me, fists my hair, and moans to let me know how much she enjoys what I’m doing.

“Please, Ky,” she begs as my fingers continue to dance over her.
